Amy’s Two-Day Wedding at Ashridge House Estate | Bridal Hair, Makeup & Second Look

Amy’s wedding celebrations at Ashridge House Estate in Hertfordshire were such a lovely couple of days to be part of. I worked with Amy across both Friday and Saturday, creating different hair and makeup looks for each part of the celebrations, as well as being there later in the day for her second look.

I had also previously done Amy’s hair and makeup for her civil ceremony, so it was really lovely to continue creating different looks for her across the rest of the wedding celebrations.

Friday evening at Ashridge House Estate

I first got Amy ready on the Friday after her Haldi celebrations.

After showering and washing everything off from earlier in the day, we started again with a fresh hair and makeup look for the evening. For her hair, I created a soft blow-dry, and for makeup we kept the skin fresh and luminous with a little extra highlight through the inner corners of the eyes.

Amy looked amazing once she was dressed and it was such a lovely start to the weekend.

The wedding morning

On Saturday morning, I was back at Ashridge House Estate early to get Amy ready for the main wedding celebrations.

I was joined by my assistant Rosie, and together we looked after Amy and her bridal party throughout the morning, making sure everyone’s hair and makeup was finished in plenty of time.

For Amy’s bridal makeup, we kept everything fresh and radiant while still allowing her to look completely like herself. Her hair was styled into a soft half-up look for the Hindu ceremony, which worked beautifully with her outfit and dupatta.

I stayed on site with Amy in the bridal suite after her hair and makeup was finished, so I was there for those final moments before the ceremony. Just before she walked down the aisle, I went with her to make sure her hair was sitting exactly where we wanted it and gave her makeup one final touch-up.

I also offer an additional stay-on-site touch-up service for brides who would like that extra support throughout the wedding day, whether that’s refreshing makeup, adjusting hair or making sure everything is sitting perfectly just before the ceremony.

Amy’s evening second look

Later in the day, Amy had booked a second bridal look, so when she changed into her white outfit we transformed her hair into Hollywood waves and refreshed her makeup for the evening celebrations.

I loved being able to create two very different bridal looks for Amy in one day. The daytime look worked perfectly for the Hindu ceremony, while the Hollywood waves gave her something much more glamorous for the evening.

For brides planning an outfit change, a second bridal hair and makeup look is such a lovely way to make that moment feel even more special.

I’ve worked at Ashridge House Estate a number of times and it’s always such a beautiful venue to return to.

Being familiar with the venue and the wedding morning setup also means I can help brides think through their timings, getting-ready plans and whether staying for touch-ups or having a second hair and makeup look later in the day would work well for their wedding.

Amy was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout all of her celebrations and I loved being part of so many different moments.
